A person armed with a steak knife tried to rob the Oshawa Dairy Queen

Police attempt to track down a suspect after an attempted robbery of a restaurant in Oshawa.

An employee was approached outside the Dairy Queen store on Simcoe Street North on Friday, June 18 at around 9:25 p.m. when he was approached by a man with a knife who ordered him back inside, police said Durham with. The suspect pounced on the employee who managed to escape, the police said.

The victim was not injured and police are trying to identify the suspect, who is described as a white man in his forties, about 5 feet tall, weighing 140 pounds with short dark hair. The unshaven man wore gray shorts, shoes and a T-shirt and waved a steak knife, the police said.
