Eight-year-old Oshawa woman useless in obvious murder-suicide
An eight-year-old girl is one of two people who died in a murder-suicide in Oshawa.
On Saturday, Nov. 12, at about 8 am, Durham Regional Police officers were called to a home on Winlord Place — in the Simcoe Street and Britannia Avenue area — for a 911 call and found two dead people in the residence, police said.
A 38-year-old male and his eight-year-old daughter were both found dead, police added.
The evidence currently points to this being a murder-suicide with no outstanding suspects, police noted.
The names of the two deceased are being withheld at the request of the family.
Police tweeted at about 4:30 pm on Nov. 12 that the homicide unit had been called in and further updates would be provided once information was available.
“There is no risk to public safety,” the police said at the time.
