Firearm seized in Oshawa visitors cease
A firearm was seized during a traffic stop in Oshawa and a man is facing several charges.
Durham Regional Police stopped a vehicle on Friday, May 27 in the area of Ritson Road and Toronto Avenue, police said.
Officers found the driver of a white BMW was under suspension and he was removed from the vehicle, police noted.
An officer searched the vehicle and found a loaded firearm, police added.
Andrew Thorne, 23, of Oshawa, faces a number of firearms and other related charges, include possession of a loaded restricted/prohibited firearm, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm and possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm with no license or registration certificate.
He was held for a bail hearing.
