Human stays present in North Oshawa as a part of a historic case investigation

A clue has led to human remains being found in North Oshawa.

On Thursday, November 4th, Durham Regional Police received information about human remains buried in a green area near Secreto Drive and Britannia Avenue East, police said.

The DRPS forensic identification services were engaged to guide the search.

Human remains were found on Monday, November 8, police added.

The homicide squad believe these remains are linked to a historic case and there are no public safety concerns.

Police will remain on site until the recovery is complete and further investigations to identify the remains are completed.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released once identity is confirmed.
