Police have issued a warning about a federal offender with ties to Oshawa who has violated probation requirements.

Patrick Chiasson, 31, is serving a two-year and four-month prison sentence for dangerous driving, escaping the police and prohibited driving. He is considered a violation of the terms of his legal release and is wanted on a Canadian arrest warrant, Ontario provincial police said.

Chiasson, who is white with black hair, a beard and brown eyes, is six feet tall and weighs 180 pounds. He is known to be frequently in Oshawa, Cobourg, Kingston and Orangeville, police said.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to call the police at 1-866-870-7673 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
