For the second time in a week, a child was bitten by a coyote in Oshawa.
A four-year-old boy approached a coyote near Britannia Avenue East and Bridle Road at around 6 p.m. on Monday, July 5, Durham Regional Police reported.
Police said the boy thought the coyote was a dog and wanted to pet it.
He suffered minor injuries.
Last week a six-year-old girl was bitten by a coyote while playing in Northway Court Park. She was taken to the hospital for treatment for the bite.
