The Colorado State Patrol blocked both directions from Colorado 83 in north Colorado Springs after a driver was killed in a three-vehicle accident Tuesday morning, soldiers said.
Rescue workers responded to the accident around 11:45 a.m. after three vehicles collided and killed one of the vehicle’s drivers, soldiers said.
Soldiers said the driver of a second vehicle was uninjured, but the driver of a third vehicle was injured and taken to St. Francis Hospital.
The lane between Flying Horse Club Drive and Old North Gate Road has been closed, the Colorado Department of Transportation said. Around 2:30 p.m., soldiers said vehicles would be taken off the roads and the highway would be reopened shortly.
