Oshawa Elementary Faculty Shuts Down because the COVID Outbreak Worsens

Another school in Durham closed due to a growing COVID-19 outbreak.

The Catholic Corpus Christi Elementary School in Oshawa will be closed from Monday, November 29th.

The school on Hillside Ave. 362 has 16 active COVID-19 cases.

There were 10 active cases at the school before the weekend, and another five students and one employee have now tested positive.

A day-care center located in the school is also closed.

Students will study virtually until the Durham Area Department of Health gives the school the green light to reopen.

This is the third school in Durham to close face-to-face classes this fall.

Enniskillen PS in Clarington is closed until at least December 2, after an outbreak it grew to 21 cases.

In Ontario, 16 schools are currently closed due to COVID.
