Oshawa girl arrested on drug costs in Bancroft

An Oshawa woman is one of 10 people charged in Bancroft on drug offenses.

The OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit, along with the OPP Emergency Response Team, OPP Canine Unit and members of the Bancroft Detachment, executed a search warrant at a residence on Bridge Street East on Tuesday, Aug. 2, the OPP reported.

Officers seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine and psilocybin, police said. They also recovered small gold and silver bars, hundreds of dollars in cash and a variety of stolen property.

Twelve people were arrested at the scene, but two were released without charges being laid.

Ashley Shaw, 32, of Oshawa, was charged with two counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule 3 substance for the purpose of trafficking, and failing to comply with a probation order. The charges have not been proven in court.

She was released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on Oct. 25

Most of the others arrested are from the Bancroft area.
