Oshawa girl charged with on-line luring of boy, 15, in United States
A joint investigation by Durham police and officials in the United States has led to the arrest of an Oshawa woman on allegations of online child luring.
The investigation began in March of 2022 when Durham police were informed of online luring involving a 15-year-old boy in Oklahoma, police said. Investigators in Durham worked in conjunction with officials with the US Department of Homeland Security.
The investigation led police to focus on a suspect who had previously been employed with an organization that dealt with youths aged 15 to 17, Durham police said.
“The offenses occurred over several social media platforms. Usernames associated to this investigation include; ‘dragonqueen’, ‘drnkcookiemonsta’ and ‘court123_always’,” police said in a media release.
A suspect was arrested Thursday, May 12.
Courtney Cross-Robinson, 23, of Oshawa is charged with luring to facilitate the commission of accessing child pornography; exposure to a person under 16, and accessing and possession of child pornography.
An investigation continues. Call police at 905-579-1520, extension 5542 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
