Oshawa man arrested after crash with police cruiser

A 27-year-old Oshawa man faces a series of charges after someone crashes into a police cruiser in a stolen pickup truck.

The incident occurred at 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, on a commercial property on Simcoe Street South in Oshawa, Durham Regional Police reported.

The officers were investigating a stolen Dodge Ram pickup truck and when they approached a suspect, the person tried to escape and hit a cruiser. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was searched and stolen license plates, brass knuckles and drugs were found, police said in a tweet.

The officers were not injured.

The suspect has faced four probation violations, non-compliance with an obligation, and driving, drug and weapon allegations.
