Oshawa man dealing with gun-related, impaired fees
An Oshawa man is facing a number of gun-related charges after a traffic stop.
On Thursday, Sept. 8 at about 2:45 am, Durham Regional Police were conducting a mobile RIDE program in the area of King Street East and Townline Road North. Officers saw a white SUV heading west on King Street and stopped the vehicle, police said.
The driver was arrested after failing a roadside screening, police noted, adding a loaded firearm was found and seized.
Mascud Asser, 27, was charged with several firearms and other related charges, including operation while impaired – exceed blood alcohol concentration, possession of a loaded restricted/prohibited firearm, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm and possession of a restricted/prohibited firearm no License or registration certificate.
He was held for a bail hearing.
