Oshawa man going through fees after police car struck
An Oshawa man is facing several charges after a parked police vehicle was rammed and an officer suffered serious injuries.
On Saturday, April 16, at about 5 am, Durham Regional Police were dealing with a stolen vehicle investigation. Officers were told the vehicle was heading toward the area of Pickering Concession Road 9 and Sideline Road 12 in Pickering, police said.
An officer had parked his vehicle on the side of a road when another vehicle slammed head on, police noted.
The suspect suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and remains in hospital in stable condition, police added.
The officer suffered serious injuries but has been released from hospital.
D’Shaun Wilson, 27, has been charged with robbery, aggravated assault, dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault with a weapon and possession of property obtained by crime.
He was held for a bail hearing.
