Oshawa motorcyclist killed in collision

An Oshawa man is dead following a fatal T-bone collision.

On Monday, Sept. 5 at about 1:40 pm, a 2014 Yamaha motorcycle collided with a 2021 Chevrolet Trax on Simcoe Street near Niagara Drive, Durham Regional Police reported.

The motorcycle was traveling northbound on Simcoe Street when it slammed into the Chevrolet traveling westbound, which had entered the road from a private driveway, police said.

The motorcyclist, a 68-year-old man from Oshawa, suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police added.

The driver of the Chevrolet wasn’t hurt and remained at the scene, police noted.

Members of the DRPS Traffic Services Branch – Collision Investigation Unit, conducted an investigation and the area was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
