A convicted drug trafficker, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as a result of his breach of statutory release, is known to frequent the Oshawa area.

The ROPE squad of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announced Friday that it is requesting help from the public in locating Drew Stone. The 37-year-old is described as a Caucasian male who has brown hair and hazel eyes. He is six-foot-three and weighs 162 pounds (191 cm / 73 kg).

Along with Oshawa, Stone is known to frequent the Belleville and Kingston areas in southeastern Ontario.

Anyone having contact with this offender or information in regards to their whereabouts is asked to contact the OPP ROPE squad (416-808-5900, or toll-free at 1-866-870-7673/ROPE). They can also anonymously contact Crimestoppers (1-800-222-8477/TIPS), or call 9-1-1.

Drew Stone is currently serving a four-year, four-month, 13-day sentence on drugs, theft and weapons convictions. His beliefs include theft under $5,000; possession of a Schedule 1 substance (two counts); possession of schedule 1/2 substance for the purpose of trafficking (two counts); failure to comply with a probation order (two counts); possession of prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition, possession of property of obtained by crime over $5,000; failure to comply with condition of undertaking/recognition; and operating a motor vehicle while disqualified.

The acronym ROPE stands for Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement.
