Colorado Springs Chef Opens Restaurant at Downtown Boutique Lodge | Arts and leisure

Jay Gust, President and Executive Chef of Ascent Restaurant Group, is the man behind the Homa Craft Café and bar on the first floor of Kinship Landing, 415 S. Nevada Ave., a boutique hotel due to open in December. Restaurants under the Ascent banner include Pizzeria Rustica and Tapateria.

“The menu at Homa will feature healthy bowls, sandwiches and homemade handmade pies,” said Gust. “I want to serve the business lunch crowd in the city center as we used to at the Ritz. No big seated dinners. It’s a beautiful place and will be the hottest place in town. “

He will use fresh ingredients from the region and combine them with favorite dishes from around the world.

“I will be working with farmers directly,” he said. “I use fresh local ingredients when it makes sense, it’s in season and tastes great.”
