Police are investigating the suspected dying of a 67-year-old lady in Oshawa-Durham

Durham Regional Police are investigating the death of a suspected elderly woman in Oshawa.

Investigators said around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday that officers had been called to an apartment on Phillip Murray Avenue.

Police said a young child came home to find his 67-year-old grandmother dead in the house.

When the rescue workers arrived, the woman was declared dead on site, the police said.

An autopsy is planned and the investigators consider the death to be suspicious.

The identity of the woman is not yet known.
