Police proceed investigation into Oshawa arson
Police are continuing to look for suspects in an Arson investigation in Oshawa.
Just before 9 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 12 of this year, a suspicious fire was started at the Speak Easy Boxing and Training academy on Bloor Street West, Durham Regional Police reported.
Oshawa Fire Services quickly extinguished the blaze, police said.
Durham police and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office investigated and it’s believed the fire was deliberately set, based on evidence at the scene, police noted.
Damage to the building is estimated at more than $100,000.
Police believe at least two suspects were at the scene and they were associated with a black Mercedes Sprinter van. The van is a 2019-2021 model year and possibly a diesel model, police added.
