Police stated 25-year-old man severely injured after capturing in Oshawa

Durham Police say a man has been hospitalized seriously injured after a shooting in Oshawa.

Police say the broad day shooting took place around noon on Thursday near Ritson Road North and Bond Street East.

Service insp. James Lamothe says when they replied they found a man in the driver’s seat of a car after an accident.
“Officials arrived on site. Obviously it’s a busy intersection – we have a lot of people and vehicles here, ”says Lamothe

“Investigators found a lonely victim with a gunshot wound in his car.” The victim, a 25-year-old man, was taken to a trauma center in Toronto with serious but not life threatening injuries.

Investigators say it is not yet clear what led to the incident, but they are investigating whether there may have been an altercation while driving between the suspect and the victim. Tactical teams and the K9 unit were deployed to track down the suspect who had fled the scene.

“At the moment we are trying to find a suspect and the suspect’s whereabouts. We have detectives on site and outside the scene and uniforms to investigate the situation, ”says Lamothe. Several cartridges were found at the scene and a forensic team is now trying to find out what led to the incident.

The police asked witnesses to come forward with video footage that could help the investigation.
