Roadways in Whitby and Oshawa have been shut down as Durham police investigate two head-on collisions that have left people injured Friday afternoon, April 22.
Police are advising motorists to avoid the areas, as investigations are still under way.
• One person was taken to hospital in Toronto with what are described as non-life-threatening injuries following a two-vehicle head-on crash around 12:50 pm on Thickson Road near Conlin Road in Whitby, police said.
• The area of Simcoe Street and Winchester Road is also shut down as a result of a collision between a pick-up truck and a heavy truck, police said. One person has been taken to local hospital with minor injuries as a result of that crash.
