The best way to mark Remembrance Day in Oshawa

Oshawa will mark Remembrance Day 2022 with the annual parade followed by a service at Memorial Park.

Oshawa is hosting an in-person Remembrance Day event on Friday, Nov. 11.

Join Royal Canadian Legion Branch 43 and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 637 for a parade at 10:30 am followed by a service at the cenotaph in Memorial Park at 11 am

The parade begins at the armory, located at 53 Simcoe St N., and ends at Memorial Park.

The service will include the laying of wreaths, hymns, prayers and a moment of silence. View the full program here. The service will also be broadcast by Rogers TV.

You can support the Royal Canadian Legion’s Poppy Campaign by making a donation at one of 27,000 traditional poppy boxes. For the third year, there will also be “Tap and Give” electronic boxes at many legion branches, HSBC locations and some retail locations. Donors can tap to make a $2, $5 or $10 donation. Donations can also me made online at legion.ca

Funds donated across the country during the national Poppy Campaign supporting veterans and their families, close to $20 million is raised each year.

There is also the option to dedicate a digital poppy through mypoppy.ca and share it on social media. Funds raised go to the The Legion National Foundation.
