COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KRDO) – Salsa on the Rock Fresh Mexican Grill, located in northwest Colorado Springs, is opening its dining room to customers at this Cinco de Mayo after taking takeaway only orders in 2020.
Restaurant owner Scott Morrissey said while the takeaway sales were great, it’s not the same thing as partying with customers.
“It was very new to everyone, it was like nothing we’ve ever seen before,” said Morrissey. “We’re just so happy to be open now. We have drink specials for our margaritas, we have Cadillac margaritas for $ 5.”
Morrissey says celebrating safely is still paramount. The tables are still two meters apart, and the cabins are divided by hand-painted wooden partitions for security and privacy reasons.
Although restaurants are given the green light to operate at full capacity, Salsa on the Rock is still headed towards a full reopening. initially at 75% capacity.
The restaurant will serve two tacos for $ 5 in honor of Cinco de Mayo.
