This is what you want to know concerning the improved Oshawa Animal Companies
The homeless pets at Oshawa Animal Services now have a better place to wait for their future home.
A $ 705,000 renovation also makes it more convenient for staff and accessible to visitors.
Located at 919 Farewell St., Oshawa, the 16,500-square-foot facility has recently been expanded to include:
• A cat isolation room for receiving customers and a cat adoption room
• Dog observation area with barrier-free meeting and greeting rooms
• Two new dog runs in the outside area
• New heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems to improve ventilation within the facility
• A new fire alarm and carbon dioxide detection system
• A barrier-free main entrance and an office area
• Renovated staff areas with barrier-free functions
In 2020, animal services helped more than 1,200 animals find new homes.
“I encourage anyone looking to add an animal companion to their family to make an appointment,” said Mayor Dan Carter.
