Three arrested after armed dwelling invasion in Oshawa

Police have arrested three suspects after an armed home invasion robbery that resulted in injuries to a victim in Oshawa.

Three suspects armed with a gun and a knife forced their way into a residence on Highland Avenue around 4 on Saturday, Jan. 8, stealing personal items and a vehicle, Durham police said. A victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later police located and arrested three suspects. As part of the investigation police executed a search warrant at a location on Phillip Murray Avenue.

Facing charges including armed robbery, vehicle theft and break and enter are Cheyeanne Hayden, 33, of no fixed address; David Vanderwerf, 34, of Phillip Murray Avenue, Oshawa, and Blaine Smith, 40, of no fixed address.
