UPDATE: Police are investigating the Oshawa taking pictures and have requested witnesses to report

An 18-year-old man was shot dead on the Chevron Prince Path on Thursday, August 12, 2021, according to Durham Police.

Police have asked witnesses to come forward as the investigation into the shooting of a young man in Oshawa continues on Thursday evening.

The 18-year-old was found with serious injuries in a parking lot on Chevron Prince Path in the Simcoe Street and Britannia Avenue area by officers who responded to reports of a shooting at around 7:50 p.m., Durham police said. In updating the incident on Friday, police said the shooting wasn’t a random incident.

The victim was taken to a Toronto hospital. The police announced in a noon update that a suspect description is not yet available.

The neighborhood between Simcoe Street North and Britannia Avenue was the site of a fatal shootout in December 2019.
