Visitors obstruction results in impairments, gun prices for Oshawa males

Investigations into suspected driving disorder have led to charges against a man from Oshawa.

Officials responding to a traffic complaint originating from Hwy. At around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 16, a suspicious vehicle stopped on Chemong Road in Peterborough, OPP said. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs. When the vehicle was searched, weapons and drugs were confiscated, the police said.

The search confiscated 53 grams of fentanyl, two spring-loaded knives, a guided energy weapon and brass knuckles, as well as cash and drug paraphernalia, OPP said.

Nicholas McCarthy, 29, from Oshawa faces charges on charges including incapacity to drive, possession of prohibited devices, possession of drugs for human trafficking and parole violation.
