What is going on on right here? 43 townhouses deliberate for Hwy. 2 East Oshawa

A property developer has submitted a plan to build 34 townhouses and nine townhouses on the highway. 2 in East Oshawa. October 28, 2021

A new neighborhood with 43 townhouses could be built on King Street East in Oshawa – the developer’s application has now been completed and a public meeting is planned.

Just the facts:

• The property is located at 1015 King St. E., on the south side of King Street East, west of Keewatin Street South and east of Melrose Street.

• The development of 34 terraced houses and nine terraced houses is planned.

• The row houses would be on a private road that joins Queensdale Avenue (between Melrose Street and Keewatin Street South). The row houses will lead to the north side of the future Queensdale Avenue link.

• In addition to the private road, the new quarter will also offer visitor parking spaces, green open spaces and a farm building.

• In order to make the plan a reality, the developer has to rededicate the buildings to allow the street and row houses – and asks for permits for fewer visitor parking spaces, parking lots and courtyards as well as greater building cover and height.

• The application is now complete and the city will hold a future public meeting before anything is approved.
