Someone in Oshawa is a new millionaire.
The Lotto 6/49 draw has been revamped, beginning with the draw Wednesday, Sept. 14.
A new play includes the Gold Ball Draw and the guaranteed $1-million ticket was sold in Oshawa.
The initial first Gold Ball Draw started with 29 white balls and the one Gold Ball. While the Gold Ball remains in play, there are now 28 white balls remaining and that means the jackpot grows to $12 million for the next draw Saturday, Sept. 17 .
There are now two guaranteed multi-million prizes with each Lotto 6/49 draw, which are held every Wednesday and Saturday. The cost to play remains at $3.
The main draw has been rechristened the Classic Draw and offers a fixed $5-million jackpot for every draw, while the previous $1-million Guaranteed Prize Draw is now the new Gold Ball Draw. The Gold Ball Draw guarantees that the winner will take home either $1 million, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million.
Players have until 10:30 pm on the draw date to buy their tickets at OLG.ca or at authorized OLG retailers.
